A large number of U.S. consulates have been closed during the Coronavirus/COVID-19 crisis. We have heard news direct from some of our clients about which U.S. Consulates are now open. Some have been able to get consulate appointments in Japan, New Zealand, and also the Netherlands. Wuhan in China and Vietnam also have consulates that are open for appointments.
To get a U.S. visa stamped at a consulate, you will typically need to make an appointment using the form DS-160. Many visa types will require approval in advance, but others (such as B-1 business visitor visa and the B-2 pleasure visitor visa) can be obtained at the time of your visit into the United States.
