Michael Morris

Michael is the newest case manager at Velie Law, recently returned from his second round of teaching English to high-school students and businessmen in Thailand.

But this is a return to the Sooner state, and friends and family, for this Kkie. Michael studied at OU, earning a B.A. in History and International Studies, followed by an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy. Studying as an exchange student in Scotland and The Netherlands started a love of foreign places and cultures that is just as strong

Michael’s professional background is primarily as a university administrator. Over the course of a decade, he progressed from a volunteer to assistant director of OU’s Education Abroad department. Each semester, he oversaw the advising and logistics for hundreds of international students, faculty and researchers. This career continued for several years at the University of Wisconsin where he ran a global internship program, before packing it in and heading to Asia to train as an ESL instructor.

Michael has been able to travel to some 35 countries, presenting at conferences, assisting universities, creating partnerships, and generally loving every minute of it.

His interest and passion for promoting a global society carries over to his role with the Velie Law team, and he looks forward to the people and places he’ll work with next.
